I want my flying car, where is my flying car??????

I just signed up for Netflix a couple of weeks ago and have been watching a few old movies. Just finished watching Blade Runner with Harrison Ford. Pretty OK movie. Pretty cool looking. I always get a kick out of these things because, for example, this movie was made in 1982 and the story is set in 2019. The year 2o19 is coming up pretty soon so it’s interesting to see how close the movie makers got to predicting what the  20-teens would be like. The answer is, not very! 

To start with there is the flying car thing, they always have the flying cars. I haven’t noticed any of these down at the dealership lately. I am sure they will be here in a couple of years now that the government owns GM and Chrysler. We all know how efficient and forward thinking the government is so it should be a matter of months until I have my flying car! (tongue firmly in cheek!) 

What I would really like you to take note of though is the not so subtle leftist propaganda that didn’t come to pass. If you have seen the movie it is like all sci-fi movies including those made today. They paint a future world that we have completely ruined. The planet has been so polluted that it always dark because the sun can’t shine through the pollution and it is constantly raining. The earth is so overpopulated that one can barely move. And of course, you have the giant evil corporation that has taken everything over and rules us, controls us and spies on us. The truth is the air is cleaner now than it was in 198o because engineers have designed cars that only emit little more than CO2. Do you think maybe that is why the big threat has changed from carbon-monoxide to CO2 in the last decade or so? I think so. If the cars no longer emit more than a trace of carbon-monoxide then they need a new bogey pollutant. 

I watched one movie called Freejack with Mick Jagger that was pretty much the same story as Blade Runner and was set in 2009 with the evil corporation taking over. In the real world, I don’t recall the evil corporation taking over in 2009 but I do recall the government taking everything over! Of course, if it isn’t the evil corporations taking over it is the evil Christians as in the idiotic Escape from LA with Kurt Russell. You still had the destroyed polluted earth but instead of the evil corporation we had a thinly veiled character modeled after Jerry Falwell. Ole’ Jerry had everyone sent to the prison colony island of LA (it had fallen off into the ocean after the “big one”) who took the Lord’s name in vain or cussed or whatever.  The evil Falwell character even  moved the capital of the US to Lynchburg, VA after taking over. Boy that was subtle! 

What is the point of all of this? The point is ignore all of the boy crying wolf crap. Do you remember all of the doom and gloom predictions of the late ’70′s and early ’80′s? They were predicting for example that the “rainforests” (they used to be called jungles) would all be gone by the year 2010 because evil corporations were “slashing and burning” at the rate of 100 acres per minute. You will notice that we have just as much “rainforest” now as we have then. Sad thing is they are still touting the same crap only they keep moving the “annihilation” date back. 

Here is some current hysteria, “We are losing Earth’s greatest biological treasures just as we are beginning to appreciate their true value. Rainforests once covered 14% of the earth’s land surface; now they cover a mere 6% and experts estimate that the last remaining rainforests could be consumed in less than 40 years.” “But who is really to blame? Consider what we industrialized Americans have done to our own homeland. We converted 90 percent of North America’s virgin forests into firewood, shingles, furniture, railroad ties, and paper.” 

When did 90% of our forests disappear? I seem to have missed it. They just keep spouting this junk as if it’s true and the average Joe isn’t savvy enough to laugh them out of town. 

More: “But sadly, we are losing the earth’s rainforests to feed the world’s ravenous appetite for cheap lumber and agriculture. Check out these statistics. You’re not going to believe them but they’re true! 

  

1. 54 of the world’s 193 countries have already lost 90 percent or more of their forest cover. Rainforests that once covered 14% of the earth’s land surface now cover a mere 6% and experts estimate that the last remaining rainforests could be gone in less than 40 years.
2. 1.5 acres of rainforest are lost every second (that equates to 50 million acres a year: an area roughly the size of Oregon)
3. Nearly half of the world’s species of plants and animals will be destroyed or severely threatened over the next 25 years due to rainforest deforestation.
4. We are losing approximately 137 plant and animal species every single day due to rainforest deforestation. That equates to 50,000 species a year!
5. As the rainforest species disappear, so do many possible cures for life-threatening diseases. Currently, 121 prescription drugs sold worldwide come from plant-derived sources. Twenty-five percent of Western pharmaceuticals are derived from rainforest ingredients! Many more could be developed as only about 1% of tropical trees and plants have been tested by scientists.
6. Most rainforests are cleared by chainsaws, bulldozers and fires for timber and then are followed by farming and ranching operations. In Indonesia, the current rate of logging could totally wipe out native forests within only 10 years. The forest has already been totally wiped out in countries like Haiti and Ivory Coast where barely a tree can be found anymore.

  

Even worse is the fact that rainforests do not regenerate as our temperate forests in Vermont do. Once gone, they are gone forever and along with them the wonderful diversity of plants and wildlife that inhabit them. 

The guy is right, I am not going to believe it, especially the part at the end there where it says that rainforest trees don’t grow back like trees in Vermont. You tell me if you believe the statistics? Remember, they have been touting the same statistics since 1980. They were saying then that in 40 years the rainforest would be gone. Now, forty years later we still have the same amount of jungle and they now predict the demise of the jungle in the next 40 years. I say they are full of baloney! And don’t get me started on this global warming fantasy. 

The bottom line is that these despicable liars are only interested in controlling YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU DO. Whats worse is that someday something bad might happen and no one will believe it because of decades of crying wolf.

the world doesn’t think we are as horrible as we think we are!

I think we have a pretty low opinion of ourselves as Americans thanks to the left-run media and school system. We also have the impression that everyone around the world hates us.  I think that impression is dead wrong. At one time or another we have liberated a large portion of the planet from iron grip of megalomaniacal left-wing dictators. For example, Europe certainly hasn’t forgotten our boys dying to liberate them from the leftist fascists. (No, the Nazi’s were not right-wingers no matter how history is being re-written. I will post on this subject soon)

A great example is the remembrance Day/Liberation Day holidays that Holland celebrated last week. After 65 years the Dutch haven’t forgotten what we and the rest of the Allies did for them. The important day is remembrance Day where they remember their fallen countrymen and yes, Allied (mainly Canadian and American) soldiers who laid down their lives to free them. (John 15:13) Remberance day is the most important to them because they realize that without those they honor there would be no Liberation day. remembrance Day is so important that until the last couple of years it was celebrated every year while Liberation Day was only celebrated every five. (They have started celebrating both every year).

In this cemetery there are more than 8,300 American soldiers buried who died in World War II. Most of these graves are adopted by the local citizens, remembering and honoring these fallen soldiers. It was a solemn ceremony attended by dignitaries and private persons. It started with the parade of AIS Colors carried by the ROTC students of the AFNORTH International High School, in Brunssum, the Netherlands.  AIS is jointly operated by Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.”

You may think having a blog with the title this one does that I am probably some sort of conspiracy theorist. Well, I am not or I am at least indifferent to them. You see, I don’t believe that any “conspiracy” can succeed unless the people of a society enable it to. In other words, if the majority see through the charade and ignore it, it will fail.

Do you remember the scene from “The Wizard of Oz” when Dorothy and the group were standing before the “Great and Mighty Oz”? They are scared to death and very submissive until they realize that the “Wizard” is just some crackpot pulling the levers controlling the show. The important lesson they learned was that no one could give them anything they didn’t already posses and that they only need take hold of those things they already had! When it comes to real life take the advise of the “Wizard” himself and “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”. More importantly, don’t pay any attention to show going on in front of the curtain either. Don’t just believe anything anyone tells you (including me!), look around and see what is going on for yourself.

Ok, here is where I make people on both sides of the aisle mad. I believe there is basically only one major party in the US. I like to call them the “Republocrats”. Now, I don’t think some secret society is running both parties but it seems to me that no matter which party is in control the same agenda advances. So that no accuses me of bias I will start with those who claim to be “conservative”.

George W. Bush claimed to be morally and fiscally conservative, pro-life, Christian, etc. Well, lets put aside what he said and what we think he stood for and look at what he actually did. He spent money like it was going out of style. His administration had the largest budgets and deficits in history, second place wasn’t even close. Conservatives are for less centralized small government and the maximum amount of freedom possible in accordance with civil society. GW signed the Patriot Act which gave the government the power to spy on her citizens without the proper due cause or court warrants as the constitution requires. He came up with the “No child left behind act” which gave the federal government the power to tell local school boards how to run their schools. He doubled the amount of abortion funding to Planned Parenthood over what Clinton did. (Yes, the government funds abortion. Every dollar given to PP frees up a dollar to pay for abortions). For the Coup de’ Gras he signed into law the first nearly 3 trillion-dollar “bailout” allowing the government to take over private business. Need I continue?

In the spirit of equal time I will now upset the Liberals out there. You think your guy Obama is different from Bush? Well, you haven’t been paying attention to what he is doing, you just listened to what he said in the campaign. In the campaign he said GW’s war policies, the Patriot Act and Guantanamo Bay were the worst travesties in human history and all would be overturned as soon as he took office. Let’s look at what he really did. First, he appointed Robert Gates as his Secretary of Defense. Want to guess who Bush’s Secretary of Defense was? It was Robert Gates. Remember how we were going to be out of Iraq by Aug. 2010? Not only are we not going to be out but we ended up sending more troops over. Additionally, he asked congress to renew the Patriot Act with zero modifications and then signed the said renewal into law a couple of months ago. If he thought Bush’s policies were so bad why has he continued them? The reason is that HE didn’t think they were bad, he just wanted YOU to believe he thought they were bad so you would vote for him!

After you cool off from being mad at me, think about it for a while and see if what I am telling you is true.

It really doesn’t upset me that both parties say one thing and do something else. What really bothers me is my fellow Americans decide at an early age which party they will belong to because that is what society expects of them. They will then adopt every part of the party platform as their own philosophy whether they really believe in all of them or not at first. They will defend all planks of the platform as “gospel” and will become very angry when anyone opposes the planks. They will do this even with the planks that they probably didn’t like before they signed on the dotted line, drank the cool-aid or whatever euphemism you prefer.

You must realize that your fellow Americans or even the government as set up by the Founders is not the enemy. The enemy are the usurpers who want to twist the Constitution, pit neighbor against neighbor and destroy the country all in the name of POWER! We must think for ourselves and resist the “divide and conquer” strategy used by the would be despots and dictators who are ruining our country and taking away our freedoms!

As Ben Franklin said, “Make yourselves sheep and the wolves will eat you.”

Oils spills, SWAT teams and where oh where has the President been

Nine days since the oil spill and finally we are hearing from the Commander and Chief. Where has he been for the last eight days? Well, Barack the “UNITER” has been on his “HATE YOUR NEIGHBOR TOUR”, that’s where. He has been traveling around the country telling you to be afraid of evil Arizonans, evil stock brokers and SUPER EVIL Tea Partiers. Finally he responds by sending SWAT teams!

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “Earlier today, DHS Secretary Napolitano announced that this incident is of national significance and the Department of Interior has announced that they will be sending SWAT teams to the Gulf to inspect all platforms and rigs. And I have ordered the Secretaries of Interior and Homeland Security as well as Administrator Lisa Jackson of the Environmental Protection Agency to visit the site on Friday to ensure that BP and the entire U.S. government is doing everything possible, not just to respond to this incident, but also to determine its cause.”

Are you noticing a trend of the President sending out swat teams this week? When did the Department of the Interior aquire SWAT teams? (In case anyone is interested the Department of the Interior is the one that administers the National Parks) Remember all of the angst over it taking 5 days to get water to New Orleans? Did you notice that the Pres is pretty much saying that this is BP’s baby and the government is going to do nothing but send bureaucrats to oversee?

The biggest question in my mind is why do we need SWAT teams to inspect the other oil platforms???? My guess would be that this explosion was no accident. I would guess this was done by leftist tree-hugger eco-terrorists. Of course, if it was perpetrated by this type of leftists you will never hear anything about it. Especially when the President and his lap-dog media has spent all week trying to convince you that I and your friends and neighbors are the scary, violent extremists rather than his own voting base! Why is this simply an “incident of national significance” when everything else is a “national crisis”?

So many questions, so few answers!
